The Pelita Mupat (Muhammadiyah 4 Elementary School Literacy Week) has concluded. The series of literacy activities were concluded with a bookmark drawing contest. Muhammadiyah 4 Elementary School, along with supporting partners, Dian Ilmu Bookstore and Togamas Soehat, organized it under the name “Bookmark Contest 2021”. Carrying the theme “Profiles of Pancasila Students,” this event was held with the aim of fostering a love for reading and nurturing the creativity of the students. The activity, which lasted for 2 days, was participated in by all students of Muhammadiyah 4 Elementary School.
One of the contest participants, Afran, expressed his happiness in being able to participate. This 2nd-grade student drew fruits as his inspiration. “I love drawing and fruits. These are strawberries, oranges, and bananas. They’re all healthy,” Afran explained his artwork.
It wasn’t easy to select six winners from the excellent artworks submitted by the students, considering their understanding of the theme, mastery of drawing techniques, creativity, composition, and more. After several discussions and various considerations, the jury panel finally selected the top six pieces from the 500 entries.
During the award ceremony, Mauidhotul Hasanah, as the school representative, conveyed a message: “Congratulations to the winners, and don’t stop creating. For the other students, don’t be disheartened because the main message of this event is sharing inspiration through a piece of bookmark. Keep the spirit of creating and being creative.”
